The Aerosol Alliance is a group of graffiti artists, environmental specialists, festival organizers and curators that have a passion for the use of spray cans. At the same time we are worried about the negative impact that the use of a spray can has on our environment and on our health. Our goal is to reduce this impact and create awareness in the spray paint industry.

We want to share knowledge using this website and via Instagram. We believe impact is made in numbers and that change is needed.

01. RAISING AWARENESS

One of our main goals is to raise awareness. By making people aware of the challenges related to painting more sustainable. We want to demonstrate that many people in our scene are actually worried about this subject. The people who sign our manifesto act as a proof point and shows that artists from multiple disciplines find this topic urgent and relevant.

02. CREATING KNOWLEDGE

We believe that for artists to make better decisions it is important to have the right information. We want to gain knowledge and make relevant information about spray cans accessible worldwide for artists and other interested people. This way everybody can learn what the impact is of spray paint on our health and the environment.

03. CATALYZING A MOVEMENT

We want to make a worldwide movement, that has momentum and inspires change. We create a platform where everybody can share their best practices, new ideas and thoughts. This will lead to more opportunities, solutions and people discussing our the issues we face when painting sustainable.

04. CONNECTING

We open up dialogues and function as an interlocutor between artists and manufacturers. We actively engage with spray can and paint manufacturers. This way of working with all relevant stakeholders (also curators and recyclers) enables to learn and further inform how we can collectively make our scene more sustainable.

05. PROVIDING INSIGHTS

The Aerosol Alliance is providing people with scientific insights, to actively work on more sustainable art, events and products.
